Meet The Team

  • Bridget Akinc

    CEO

    Bridget joined Building Impact as CEO in 2017 with the goals of catalyzing our growth in impact, through close partnerships with nonprofit partners and rigorous measurement of the outcomes of our work. 

    Prior to entering the nonprofit arena, Akinc led teams focused on technology and go-to-market strategy for high-growth Silicon-Valley based software companies like BEA Systems, and for non-profits like The New Teacher Project. Akinc began her career as a consultant in the information technology practice at the Boston Consulting Group, and maintains a strong connection to education, ever since her days of earning her teaching certification in New Jersey.

    Bridget earned an undergraduate degree in education policy at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, and a graduate degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she serves on the faculty, teaching a course called "Leading With Impact."    Akinc loves running, coaching her kids' teams, and exploring the outdoors.

  • Elsa Gomes Bondlow

    VP Growth and Partnership Development

    Elsa joined Building Impact in 2020 as the Vice President of Growth and Partnership Development. She will be leading our efforts in cultivating our partners in the Commercial Real Estate community and providing the foundation for our building footprint in Boston. She will be also coordinating the work (from business development, to client engagement) of our team members who interface with Commercial Real Estate partners. Prior to working for Building Impact, Elsa was the Chief Development Officer at the International Institute of New England, leading the centennial organization's fundraising efforts on behalf of immigrants and refugees.
    She has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, affiliated with the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Intercultural Studies and Communications from Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, CA, and a Management Certificate in Health and Human Services from Suffolk University. She speaks fluent Portuguese, Spanish and French.

  • Kate Kerrigan

    Vice President of Nonprofit Programs

    Kate joined Building Impact in 2016 as the Director of Nonprofit Programs. She is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships and strategic partnerships with local nonprofits, community-based organizations, and schools. Prior to working for Building Impact, Kate was the Director of Corporate Engagement at United Way. She has a Master of Arts in International Studies and has spent extensive time living in Africa, India and South America working for multiple NGOs. She loves the outdoors, enjoys running and being a mom of two.

  • Caryn Conway

    Director of Partner Engagement & Operations

    Caryn joined Building Impact in 2018 as the Director of Partner Engagement and added the responsibilities for our Operations in 2019.  She is responsible for the client relationships with Building Impact’s real estate and corporate partners.  Prior to Caryn’s recent nonprofit corporate volunteer experience, she worked in the for-profit financial industry in international custody and equity research following investment banks and large regional banks.  She has Bachelor of Science in business from Villanova University and a Masters in Finance from Boston College. Outside of the office, Caryn enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with her 3 boys.

  • Dave Simpson

    Director of Growth Strategy & Development

    Dave joined Building Impact in 2019 as the Director of Growth Strategy & Development. He is responsible for creating & executing our growth plan, and for scaling adoption of our service offerings by developing strategic partnerships between our clients & non-profits. Prior to joining Building Impact, David worked at a global advertising agency and led integrated marketing campaigns for some of Procter & Gamble’s biggest CPG brands. David earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Marketing from Boston College, and during his free time, he loves being involved in his community, spending time with loved ones, and working out. 

  • Christina Armand

    Nonprofit Coordinator

    Christina joined Building Impact in 2019 as the Nonprofit Coordinator. She is responsible for cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with local nonprofits, community-based organizations, and schools. Prior to Building Impact, Christina interned with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mass Bay. She worked primarily on the Program Services team and assisted with recruiting, enrolling, assessing potential mentors. Christina graduated from Boston University with a degree in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Boston, staying active and travelling.

  • Isabela Cheng

    Creative Director & Data Analyst

    Isabela joined Building Impact in 2018 as a Data Analyst, and added Creative Director responsibilities to her work in 2019. She is responsible for capturing data for impact measurement, social media, and marketing communications, and works on the Nonprofit Programs team.  Prior to Building Impact, Isabela interned at the Somerville City Hall Health and Human Services department and worked as a translator at NGOs like Plan International and the Panamanian Family Planning Association. She graduated from Tufts University with a degree in economics and community health. Isabela enjoys going to the beach, watching movies and reading fiction.
