Create Your OWN Volunteer Event
Mobilize a group to get involved in the community this spring and summer! In addition to all of the opportunities available to you each month, Building Impact staff regularly work with companies and large groups to customize volunteer events that meet their specific needs. Interview-Appropriate Clothing Drive

Donate your interview suits and other appropriate business apparel to the “Put Your Clothes to Work” Clothing Drive. All donations will benefit the Goodwill Clothing Collaborative for Job Trainees that provides intensive job preparedness and training programs to thousands of job trainees. Career Q&A with a Framingham High School Student
Based on Your Schedule; Weekday Afternoons
Take an hour out of your day to speak with a Framingham High School student about your career path. The Mazie Mentoring program is looking for professionals from a variety of fields to be interviewed by a student, along with the student’s adult mentor. Each youth will meet you at your office with questions prepared in advance and will be joined by his or her adult mentor, who will guide the student along so that you can share your knowledge. AIDS Walk, Sunday, June 1st in Downtown Boston
Help raise awareness about HIV/AIDS while walking (10K) or running (5K) at this family-friendly event. The Walk incorporates both education and entertainment into the day’s festivities. Learn more at aac.org.
Vision 5K, Saturday, June 7th in the Back Bay Fens
A unique 5K run/walk where blind and sighted participants run or walk side by side. Join sighted and blind athletes, world-class runners and weekend walkers, to benefit five organizations that serve the blind and visually impaired. Learn more at vision5k.org.
Paws in the Park, Sunday, June 8th in Lincoln
A day for dog lovers filled with family and canine fun! Activities will include an Agility Try-out ring, Micro-Chip Clinic, demonstrations, Parade of Adoptable Dogs, Doggie Games, face painting for the kids and food! Learn more at saveadog.org/paws2008.asp.
MYTOWN Tour

Mock Interviews for Year Up Students

Volunteer at Community Servings

Goodwil
For more than a century, Goodwill has helped individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment find jobs and create more rewarding lives. Last year, Goodwill provided job training and career services to nearly 9,000 men and women in Massachusetts.
“Put Your Clothes To Work”…
This clothing drive offers an opportunity to help those entering or re-entering the workforce obtain interview-appropriate clothing. In this 8th annual collective endeavor, thousands of people in our community will be in a better position to pursue employment opportunities because they will have the business attire they need for a successful interview. Donate your interview suits and other appropriate business apparel. All donations will benefit the Goodwill Clothing Collaborative for Job Trainees, a network of local community-based organizations that aid those with barriers to self-sufficiency through intensive job-preparedness and training programs.

Youth & Education
July and August will feature events and opportunities that focus on Youth & Education:
- Volunteer opportunity with Cradles to Crayons at the Giving Factory
- Donate to the Backpack and School Supplies Drive to benefit youth in need
- Become a youth mentor through a school, library or other youth organization. Find an opportunity that works for you through Building Impact’s Mentoring Guide (coming this summer!)
- Volunteer outside by harvesting produce on a local farm, participating in a neighborhood cleanup and other family-friendly opportunities
