R.E.Action volunteers stuff 1,000 backpacks for kids

Last Friday, the City Hall Plaza in Boston was crowded with hundreds of volunteers stuffing backpacks with school supplies for Cradles to Crayons’ Ready for School Backpack-a-thon.  R.E.Action volunteers from Skanska, TK & A, J. Calnan & Associates, and Sherin & Lodgen stuffed 1,000 backpacks in just two hours.  In addition to our skilled assembly-line of packers, several volunteers were refilling the school supply stocks, running supplies over to tables ready for more, and breaking down boxes to make room for the 15,000 backpacks that were newly stuffed.  Many thanks to Cradles to Crayons and all the volunteers who worked enthusiastically to make sure all our students have the supplies they need to start the year off on the right foot!
