Program Model

Building Impact takes a building-centric approach to increasing civic engagement.

We partner with the real estate industry to deliver volunteer events, donation drives, and social networking opportunities to the buildings where people live and work.

Through our Connect program, we harness the goodwill and energy inside office and apartment buildings, and channel 100% of their volunteer hours, donations, and resources back to our Nonprofit Partner Network.

This network is comprised of high-impact organizations around Greater Boston, including The Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayons, Boys and Girls Clubs, Birthday Wishes, Mass Mentoring, Community Servings, and More Than Words, and many others.

Our program sites (buildings) provide access to a captive audience of hundreds of companies and thousands of individuals where they work and live, breaking down time and access barriers to community involvement.

Our Model is Simple. Our Approach is Unique.

Building Impact converts formerly uninvolved bystanders into civically active participants, expanding the pool of citizens involved in philanthropic work. We do this through:

Partnerships: We establish mutually beneficial relationships within the real estate industry and nonprofit sector in order to reach people where they live and work, and channel their resources to worthy causes and organizations.

Outreach: Our team of Community Connectors engages the people who work and live in the buildings we service, providing them with knowledge and opportunities to volunteer, donate, and connect to local organizations and causes.

Path of Engagement: We focus our work on moving companies and individuals down a Path of Engagement, helping them to gradually deepen and strengthen their connection to the community over time.

Measurement and Evaluation:  We track and measure our quantifiable along with our qualitative outcomes in order to guide our program design and service delivery.

Social Impact Reporting: We translate our measurement and evaluation work into Impact Reports, using the data to guide our decision-making and quantify our impact in the community.

Resource Development: Building Impact develops propriety techniques and tools to help companies and individuals establish a sustainable culture of community involvement.
