Paradigm Properties Accounting Team Serves Up Meals at Community Servings

Yesterday morning instead of coming into the office, the Paradigm Properties accounting team met at Community Servings, ready to roll up their sleeves and get into the kitchen. After a quick orientation, we donned hair nets, aprons, and gloves and set ourselves up on the food packaging line.

Community Servings delivers 5 days worth of meals to households across Eastern Massachusetts. They do each delivery route one day a week, so the meals have to be frozen so that they will still be fresh when clients heat them up each day. The Paradigm team packaged hundreds of meals of chicken, rice, and carrots before moving on to cream of mushroom soup.

Paradigm's accountants are known for their sense of humor, so they kept the mood light as they worked, laughing and joking with the other kitchen volunteers and Community Servings' head chef, Brad. Brad was impressed not only with their attitude but also with how quickly and efficiently the team worked together. "We prepare over 3800 meals a week with a staff of only 9 in the kitchen, so we could not do our job without the help of volunteers like you," he said.

Accountants rock!

Despite popular perceptions, accountants clearly know how to let loose! Way to go. This looks like a good time doing good for the community.
