To what extent does Building Impact help those we serve become more engaged in the community?  To test this idea, Building Impact is collaborating with Tufts University’s Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) at the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service.  CIRCLE helps conduct research on the civic and political engagement of Americans.  Building Impact hopes to study the affect our programming has on level of community involvement seen in the people we reach.

It is our mission to move individuals and companies towards ever deeper levels of civic engagement, a continuum we call the Path of Engagement(SM).  CIRCLE will be surveying individuals in our program buildings about their volunteer habits and comparing those responses to individuals with no access to our programming.  We hope to gain a greater understanding of how individuals and companies involved in our program engage with the communities and causes around them and how we can best elevate that engagement to more impactful levels.  In this way, we hope to address community need across Greater Boston and foster more caring and connected communities.
