Call to Action FAQ's
- What is Call to Action?
Call to Action is Building Impact’s annual fundraiser that also helps companies and their employees get more involved in the community in convenient ways. - What makes Call to Action different from other fundraisers?
Instead of a one-night gala dinner, Call to Action companies—and their employees—get an entire year’s access to hands-on service activities of their choosing and visibility in the community for their philanthropy. They can participate as much or as little as they want (or not at all). All volunteering is on your terms. Supporting Call to Action gives companies the access, but there is no obligation, ever! - How can companies support Building Impact?
Participant companies simply select a sponsorship level and pay either online or via check. Building Impact does the rest. Companies receive benefits commensurate with the sponsor level selected. - What does the money support?
Money raised will help support the general operating budget for Building Impact. This year’s fundraising goal is $200,000. - Can any company join?
Building Impact was founded and nurtured by the real estate industry, so most Call to Action companies have some connection to real estate. This includes building owners & managers, contractors, engineering, architecture, and brokerage firms. We also welcome all vendors to the industry and real estate divisions of related fields such as accounting, banking, finance, insurance, and media. Call to Action further benefits from its relationships with industry associations like NAIOP, Greater Boston Real Estate Board, NEWIRE, and ULI. We welcome all companies that are ready to get involved. - Do companies have to pay up front?
Participant companies can pay online via Building Impact’s website or be invoiced. All payments are due by January 31, 2012. - What do we need from sponsors?
Building Impact staff will coordinate any graphical materials, logos, etc. we need from companies to provide visibility benefits. - Is volunteering hard? Do participants have to do any heavy lifting?
No, certainly not. Participation activities range from donation drives of food or clothing, to in-office volunteer opportunities over lunch, to more demanding activities out in the community. There is truly something for everyone and every ability level. - How do sponsors arrange a giving event for just their company?
Once you are a registered participant, you can coordinate with Building Impact staff to schedule an in-office event for your company. - Is there be a lot of administrative work for participants?
No. Simply provide Building Impact one (1) point of contact, the Ambassador, who will be responsible for distributing emails and other Building Impact information to the company. - How do employees participate on their own?
Employees sign-up online for the events they want to attend via the Building Impact website. They will receive emails individually with any instructions they need to participate. - Can companies just donate and not participate?
Absolutely! Call to Action is Building Impact’s only fundraiser and we welcome all contributions. You are never obligated to do anything further. - Are there any geographic restrictions to participating?
Yes. Building Impact partners with companies and nonprofits across Greater Boston, Metrowest , and the Merrimack Valley which we loosely define as on or inside Route 495. Don’t hesitate to contact amanda@buildingimpact.org if you have any questions.
