There is a sense of gratitude one cannot find anywhere else when preparing and serving a meal to those in need. Throughout the month of July, volunteers from CHI, State Street, John Hancock Tower, MSPCC, Roblin Insurance and many others donated their time to serving a meal and a smile to needy individuals across Greater Boston.

Two Community Servings events occurred during the month of July. Volunteers from CHI and a mixed group donated their time to help people in need. Community Servings delivers meals 5 days a week to 750 people over the course of the year. These people suffer from a variety of illnesses which require special diets—Community Servings provides 20 different restaurant-quality meals a day, depending on people’s needs.

State Street and companies from the John Hancock Tower volunteered with TEEP the last two weeks in July and helped with dinner preparation for middle and high school students.

New England Center for Homeless Veterans is an ongoing assistance program for men and women veterans to extend a helping hand to veterans that are facing challenges of addiction, trauma, mental illness and unemployment.  Volunteers from MSPCC and Roblin Insurance donated their time to help feed nearly 250 veterans during the month of July.  NECHV helps meet the needs of more than 15,000 veterans and serves nearly 200,000 meals annually.
