Volunteer: Create Braille Books
Teach your child the value in helping others by collating braille children's books at National Braille Press. This non-profit helps the blind and vision impaired children experience the joy of reading. Kid-friendly event, ages 12+.
There will be a break during the event in which volunteers can get dinner.

Learn how to become a decision-maker for a child who has no parent or guardian acting on their behalf. The Special Education Surrogate Parent Program recruits, trains and appoints volunteers to advocate for children in the custody of the Department of Children & Families. Construct new garden features and do maintenance projects at the CitySprouts workday. This project is ideal for family, friends and co-workers to volunteer side by side and make the gardens a better learning environment for the teachers and students that use them.

Volunteer: Equip Kids for Success
Sort toys and pack clothing at Cradles to Crayons to benefit local boys and girls in need. Cradles provides low-income youth with school supplies, clothing, toys, and more. Kid-friendly event (ages 6+). For a permission slip for volunteers under 18, please click here.

Volunteer: Become a Junior Achievement teacher
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Teach students in a school near you about economics, life in the workforce and the importance of community involvement. Click here for a list of towns where Junior Achievement partner schools are located. Classes meet once a week for up to 45 minutes for 5-8 weeks.
Connect: Teen Mentoring Training Sessions
Attend a training to help Framingham youth through Mazie Mentoring. Volunteers are paired with a local high school student to develop a positive relationship and help them set goals to achieve success. Training sessions are Tuesday, February 23rd OR Saturday, March 6th. If you cannot make it to the training this spring, opportunities are also available in the fall.
